A winched launch gives many advantages over the mountain launch and we now recommend this as the preferred option. It is not as sensitive to weather conditions, we don't have to spend time travelling up the mountain. Winched launches have proved to maximise the experience by giving more altitude and airtime.

Your pilot will lay out the glider and prepare the equipment before carrying out a short safety and flight briefing. Then it's into the harness and clip onto the winch line which is attached to our boat on the water. A few short steps bring the glider overhead and we're airborne, cruising out over the lake gaining altitude all the way. Ten minutes later we're at 2500 feet with the boat far below us. Your pilot pulls the release handle and we're flying free.

From here you decide how you want the flight to proceed - Gentle soaring or we can show you the full flight envelope of our gliders, letting you experience spiral dives, wingovers and B-stalls. Chat to your pilot or just relax and enjoy the view, its all up to you.

A soft landing on the lakeside completes your flight, returning you to earth where you can share your excitement with family and friends.

Climbing to altitude on a winched flight. Usually we get to an altitude of 700-1.000 meters before we release from the towline
